Mischief Night 4: Hex and Havoc Released!

The fourth Mischief Night book, Hex & Havoc, is now available!

This series started as a project between me and my son Alex, and it’s been pretty cool to keep making these books together as he gets older. We started with a goal, an idea, some characters, and a lot of drawing, and somehow we’re now four books into it.

In Mischief Night 4: Hex & Havoc, Tim and Lucy get their hands on a mysterious card game that turns out to be a little more magical, and mischievous, than they expected.

I handled most of the writing, illustration, and design, while Alex continues to be part of the creative process and the reason this series exists in the first place. He did some illustrating and inking, but did all of the color work and helped with building the story.

Originally, Mischief Night started as a 24-Hour Comic book project, where we write, illustrate, and put together a full 24 page comic book in 24 hours. The last two years had us going past the 24 hour mark, so naturally we stopped calling it a 24-Hour Comic Book.

It’s been a fun father-and-son project, and I’m looking forward to seeing where we take it next.

Mischief Night 4: Hex & Havoc is available now in print and eBook.

Portfolio Updates

It’s been over a year since the last update here on MMP. Not getting an update is no fun, but that doesn’t mean things weren’t happening behind the scenes. Over this last year, MMP has worked on a few new projects. One being Space Ranger Fred with author Matt Newnham out of the United Kingdom. This past year saw MMP rebuilding the SpaceRangerFred.com website, illustrating a new book for the Space Ranger Fred series, producing a mobile game for the site, and writing and illustrating Space Ranger Fred mini-comics! You can check out SpaceRangerFred.com to see more.

The children’s comic book series Mischief Night has also found a new home in Missouri Mobile Productions’ portfolio. Illustrated by me and my son, Mischief Night is a fun comic book series that originated on my blog StLouisDad.com. The story follows a couple of kids whose Halloween adventure takes a mischievous magical turns in each outing.

Another comic book series from Missouri Mobile Productions is getting resurrected and a fresh breath of air. The Killer Teddy Bears from Outer Space is re-launching in 2026. You can watch this space for more information on their release. In the meantime, I have added the original Killer Teddy Bears from Outer Space illustrations and comic book in the Illustration & Art Portfolio. Check them out! The new comic will be fresh and have a completely new look too!

More sketches, photography, and books have been added to their respected portfolios, and finally, Lines N Lyrics #2 will be out later this month. Ideally, I would have released a new issue of my zine every month, but life sometimes gets in the way and it’s a year later, so it is what it is.
